When turnaround time could mean the difference between life and death for a patient, service-level
agreements become profoundly meaningful beyond commercial implications. This scenario is
common in the relationship between a lab and an Emergency Department (ED,) thus it is imperative
for lab and ED leadership to know whether the turnaround time for those
and to have the data they need to investigate issues when failures occur.
Our new ED Turnaround Time (ED TaT) dashboard provides all the great reporting found in our
Performance dashboard but is refined and enhanced to specifically support service objectives for ED patients and the tests specified in ED service-level agreements.
The ED TaT dashboard displays the success rate overall (all facilities) and by individual facility, as well
as a comparison of the average TaT for each facility. A detailed report provides, by facility and test, the
count and percentage of total tests that met or did not meet the TaT goal with the ability to drill down
for more information.
